Whoa!

Slow down life --- you've gone by so fast in these last few months! I can't keep up.

Daughter back in college, headed for Fiji in about 4 months. Son, in high school and with a new job. Me, back to work after summer break. And when I'm not at work, I'm taxiing the boy around - or visiting my girl at school. She has a bunk for me. I hope to go next weekend.

Love you!

Projects 3 and 4

Today, because it wasn't so stinkin' hot outside, I decided to work on some indoor projects.

First, I cleaned - really cleaned out my refrigerator. Washed everything down, including the top of the refrigerator, and threw stuff away. Whew, that was a long time over due!

Secondly, I painted my entryway. It's just a few walls, not a large space, but it's sure freshened up!

I am glad to have completed these few project this summer. The rest can wait until rainy autumn days and winter days when it's too cold to do anything else.

Hope you appreciate your blessings!

Love U

Eggses

Yesterday was an 'eggie' day for me. In the mood for a warm breakfast/lunch (doesn't that usually equal brunch?), I had two eggs, over medium, with toast. Then, a neighbor brought us her homemade Flan (I had a taste). My son made dinner - crepes. I had one filled with ham and cheese, and put broccoli on top, and one with corned beef, cheese and Thousand Island - his surprise creation. Then I had the Flan for desert! Lots of eggs consumed by me, yesterday.

I just want to reflect on my son's dinner here for a minute. He made all the crepes from scratch and he makes them well! On the table setting, he used cloth napkins and even put lemon slices on the rims of our water glasses.

This really blesses me!!

Blessings to you!

Celebrate!

I have a dear friend who celebrates the whole month of her birthday! I find it to be very sweet. But today is MY birthday. I started my celebration a few days ago, by taking a mini vacation with my kids. We left Sunday afternoon and arrived in the Twin Ports area around 4 o'clock. After meeting up with one of my daughter's co-workers for a minute, we went to Canal Park where met up with another of her friends, ate dinner, and walked around the Lake walk. It was a stunning evening!

It was there that I spotted this bench:

I thought it was the coolest thing ever :)

On Monday, we spent most of the day at the beach on Lake Superior in Wisconsin Point. Usually the lake is much too cold to swim in, but today was perfect. While the water was certainly 'cool', it wasn't uncomfortable. I love that the water is so clear and clean.

That evening we were invited to the home of my daughter's co-worker/boss. He grilled us a great dinner, we played a frisbee game, and capped the night off with great conversation around the fire pit and smores!

Before our departure on Tuesday, we ate a late lunch at The Anchor Bar. They serve great burgers!

As short as it was, this was one of our very best vacations. Even my 16 year old son agrees.

I'm blessed!

Just Ask 'Buddy'

Most days, I'm wracking my brain on what to make for dinner. I get so tired of the same old stuff. Thankfully, lately, my son has been coming up with the dinner ideas. Last night it was Reuben sandwiches. I RAN to the store for the fixins. It was delicious, and easy. Thanks, buddy, for the ideas.

Just What I Needed

I just read this on a blog that I follow. I have to share it with you now:

The Limits of a Parents - John Mark Ministries

I gave you life, but I cannot live it for you
I can teach you things, but I cannot make you learn
I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you
I can allow you freedom, but I cannot account for it
I can take you to church, but I cannot make you believe
I can teach you right from wrong, but I cannot decide for you
I can buy you a beautiful garment, but I cannot make you beautiful inside
I can offer you advice, but cannot accept it for you
I can give you love, but I cannot force it upon you
I can teach you to share, but I cannot make you unselfish
I can teach you to respect, but I cannot force you to show honor
I can advise you about friends, but I cannot choose them for you
I can advise you about sex, but I cannot keep you pure
I can tell you the facts of life, but I cannot build your reputation
I can tell you about drinking, but I cannot say no for you
I can warn you about drugs, but I cannot prevent you from using them
I can tell you about lofty goals, but I cannot achieve them for you
I can teach you about kindness, but I cannot force you to be gracious
I can warn you about sin, but I cannot make you moral
I can love you as a child, but I cannot make you walk with God
I can teach you about Jesus, but I cannot make Jesus your Lord
I can tell you how to live, but I cannot give you eternal life

Blessings!
